A 70-year-old man on apixaban for AF attended last week with two days of visible haematuria. He had no other symptoms or pain. Dip showed blood+++ only. He was given trimethoprim. Today his MSU and U&Es were normal. ‘The infection’s gone’, he says. ‘There’s been no more blood.’ What's the cause?
